“Dear April month, don’t fool me.
I am already fooled by every other month.
Nah, I am not a fool.
I am just a little innocent.
Sometimes, boiled with a pinch of salt.
Other times, grilled with dark rum.
Often roasted with sizzling chili.
Nah, I am not a dish.
I am just a little mousy.
Nah, I am not a mouse.
Look it up in the dictionary.
I give unconditional love, like street dogs.
I crave soft hugs, like domestic cats.
I roar like a tiger in a caged zoo.
Nah, I am not an animal.
I am just a dreamer.
I want to fly high like a bird.
I want to deep dive like a dolphin.
I want to bloom like a flower.
Who am I?
I am just sunshine amidst the rain.”
